How much luggage you can take will depend on the aircraft you are travelling on this varies from 10kgs to 20kgs. If you would like specific information on journey luggage allowances, please contact our Reservations department.
Our air tours are rated Easy, Moderate and Active. We strongly urge you to consider the fitness rating before selecting your preferred journey, in respect for your fellow travellers. Bill Peach Journeys reserves the right to refuse travel to any client whose fitness level is below the recommended rating.
On all of our journeys, you must be able to walk unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey. If you require a wheelchair or walking frame assistance, then our journeys are not suitable. On each of our itinerary pages there is a rating for each journey.
EASY – These journeys are not physically demanding unless you want them to be. They include easy-paced walks which are on mainly flat ground. You must be able to walk up to 1km unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey.
MODERATE – These journeys are more challenging and designed for the more active traveller who is looking to venture off the beaten path. To fully participate in all activities, the traveller must be able to walk up to 1km on even surfaces unaided, travel by four-wheel drive vehicles along ungraded roads and walk up steps unassisted.
ACTIVE – These journeys are specifically for the active traveller. To fully appreciate the regions visited on these programmes, participants will be required to walk up to 2kms on uneven surfaces unaided, walk up steps and inclines, and travel in four-wheel drive vehicles along ungraded roads and board boats from water tenders.
On average our touring days commence between 8:00am and 10:00am; however, due to the nature of some of the touring highlights on our journeys we do offer optional early morning sightseeing which is best enjoyed at sunrise. Our Journey Planners endeavour to make all of our tours as easy going and as restful as possible.
Guests over the age of 18 who are of sound mind and body are welcome on a Bill Peach Journeys Air Tour. All guests are expected to be able to understand the information supplied by the English speaking Journey Director and be capable of looking after their own personal needs.
The number of guests varies greatly depending on the tour. Our tours carry a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 28 passengers with the exception of a number of tours specially designed for more intimate-sized groups.
This varies depending on the size of the aircraft. On board, there is always at least 1 Pilot and 1 Journey Director and on our larger aircraft there are 2 Pilots, a Flight Director and a Journey Director.
All aircraft fly at an average of 13,000 feet, which means you can always view the landscape below. Over areas of specific interest from the air, our experienced pilots will bring the aircraft down to 1000 feet for a spectacular birds-eye views of the area below – regions like Uluru, the Bungle Bungle Range, and the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
This all depends on what journey you a travelling on. The style of aircraft is specifically chosen to provide the best possible access into remote locations and can range from an 8 seat Cessna, to 30 seat SAAB 340B aircraft. In some remote locations such as the glaciers in Southern New Zealand, clients may be transferred from the larger aircraft into smaller planes. On each of our itinerary pages on this website is a description of the type of aircraft used for each programme.
On average only 2 hours a day is spent on the aircraft for Australian air tours and on average 1 hour 15 minutes in New Zealand. The advantage of private aircraft is that you minimise the travelling time between each destination and maximise the time on the ground to see the highlights of each location.
Bill Peach Journeys accepts all major credit cards including AMEX, Visa, and Mastercard at no additional fee. We also accept direct deposits into our bank account. All prices listed are in AUD and all payments are processed in AUD.
