This morning you will meet at a designated departure point at Melbourne Airport. After morning tea, the group will depart for Victoria’s famed Yarra Valley. Travel through rolling hills strung with vines, secluded natural valleys set against blue mountain backdrops and lush greenery and pastures, past towering trees and pristine rivers to verdant villages.
This area’s relatively cool climate makes it particularly suited to the production of high-quality wines since becoming Victoria’s first wine region in 1838. Australian wine-making institution, Domaine Chandon was established by French champagne house Moët & Chandon in 1986 and is dedicated to the production of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine and premium quality, cool-climate still wines. Stroll through the charming gardens of Alowyn to view their summer blooms and award-winning displays including the perennials, the French Provincial and Parterre Gardens. Be invigorated by the pristine natural environment that surrounds us in Marysville including deep valleys, lush forests and impressive waterfalls including one of Victoria’s highest at 84 metres – Steavenson Falls. Learn about the history of the region including pioneers and the timber industry with a private visit to the Marysville Historical Society Museum. This afternoon, visit the charming Bruno’s Art and Sculpture Garden set amongst trees, ferns and bubbling streams in the verdant rainforest gardens. An afternoon at leisure to relax before dinner

After breakfast, we arrive at Coombe, the former home of famous opera singer Dame Nellie Melba. One of the largest and oldest family estates in the Yarra Valley, it was established in the late 1800’s and it is still owned and operated by her descendents, the Vestey family. Not only will we enjoy the acclaimed beautiful gardens and hedges, we will also learn about the history of this site and its significance to not only the Yarra Valley but to Australia as it pays homage to the life of Dame Nellie Melba and her role in Australian history. We will enjoy lunch at Coombe where the very best of available local produce is used to create a mouth watering dining experience.
We arrive into Melbourne and check-in to the luxurious Langham where you will experience timeless luxury. Relax in the refined ambience of The Langham, which is enviably positioned on Melbourne’s Southbank. Often voted Australia’s finest city hotel, the 5-star Langham offers panoramic city views and is perfectly positioned near the CBD’s arts and shopping precincts. Transfer to the tennis this afternoon. As we take our seats at Rod Laver Arena, the excitement builds as we anticipate an evening of Women’s Semi-Finals. Relax this morning enjoying the luxury of The Langham or perhaps enjoy a stroll along the river-side promenade. This journey is more challenging and designed for the more active traveller who is easily capable of walking around the large Melbourne Park precinct. To fully participate in all activities, the traveller must be able to walk up to 1km on even surfaces unaided and walk up steps unassisted.
